What's your word lately?

I've heard some people say each new year or every change of seasons they choose a word to focus on. It could be a way of setting an intention or simply focusing your attention and thoughts on whatever you wish to create more of in your experience.

I wasn't always inclined to participate in this style of manifestation or intention setting.  However, lately, the word NOURISH or NOURISHMENT has been imbedded into my vocabulary and mind it seems impossible to deny. I try not to resist anything that keeps showing up to me. If it's undeniable, I'm listening!  So what is this Nourishment and why does it keep coming to me now? nour·ish·ment /ˈnəriSHm(ə)nt/

"the food or other substances necessary for growth, health, and good condition." ~ Webster's Dictionary

WOW!  Well, that makes sense!  Now I know why and why now! For over a decade I have been focused on a relationship that just recently stopped and stopped abruptly and painfully!  It felt like I got the rug pulled out from under me! I don't care to travel down the road of that mess, so instead I choose to focus on what I'm learning about myself now.

I need to nourish myself! I have been blessed with a new fresh start! I am choosing to create time and intention to seek out new healthy recipes, and new books, to start gardening, to take care of plants, and procrastinate projects. I feel I am nourishing a part of me that got lost in someone else's dreams for far too long. So now, it is just me.  Well, not really....I have an amazing network of people I feel fulfilled and loved by. But what I mean by "just me" is that I can put myself as the number one priority.  I can nourish myself physically, mentally, and spiritually.

"When we feed ourselves with the Word of God, our obedience allows us to grow in our relationship with God, our behavior changes from the inside out and becomes more Christ-like, and we receive spiritual nourishment that keeps our minds and therefore our bodies healthy and pure." ~ Bethel AG Church

So, for now, this girl (aka...me),  is nourishing herself on every level. If it feels nourishing to my mind, body, and soul...I'm IN.

I ask you, what is your word AND more importantly, WHY?  What does it mean to you and how are you going to put that word into action on a daily basis?
